What is RGT Supreme Garnet
Garnet is a semi-precious stone whose natural properties make it the most efficient abrasive for many industrial applications. Almandine Garnet grains are the most versatile natural blasting and cutting medium available in the international market today. The garnet abrasive’s inherent physical and chemical uniformity ensures better performance and its repeatability, low dust levels, high specific gravity and cutting accuracy makes it ideally suitable for the blasting industry. Garnet abrasive is gradually displacing the other substitute blasting media because of its environment friendly utility and reusability thus eliminating the health risks associated with other blasting media.
RGT industrial supreme garnet abrasive can be used as sand blasting abrasive, water jet abrasive, abrasive grain, filtration medium and precision abrasive powder among other uses. RGT garnet abrasive grains support a full line of bonded and coated abrasive products for surface conditioning of wood, metals and other synthetic material surfaces.

Benefits of Using RGT Supreme Garnet
Low Dust Levels
The garnet abrasive grains have high specific gravity, exceptional material hardness and very low breakdown rate. This ensures significantly reduced dust levels, improved operator visibility, minimum disruption and danger to adjoining operations.
Recyclable
The garnet abrasive grains have high specific gravity, exceptional material hardness and very low breakdown rate. This ensures significantly reduced dust levels, improved operator visibility, minimum disruption and danger to adjoining operations.
Non-Toxic
RGT Garnet being an inert, non-toxic natural mineral contaning less than 0.1% free silica does not cause any health risk to the personnel or inviromental contaminating in surrounding areas.
Cost Effective
RGT Garnet’s distinctiveness is in its recyclability that enhances the efficiency and increases the productivity and at the same time reduces abrasive consumption thus leading to significant cost savings per square meter blasted.
Superior Surface Profile
RGT Garnet abrasive due to their ability to reach deep into the cavaties to the bare metal surface provide a uniform surface profile that is virtually free of embedment and rogue peaks and troughs providing improved coating adhesion and coating life
Superior Abrasive Traits
RGT Garnet grains have unique structure that cause them to fracture along crystal cleavage lines produsing more angular, sharper edges and eliminates secondry finishing in industries like job shop, glass cutting and aerospace.
Better Cutting Edge
RGT Garnet abrasives produce a better edge quality and can be used in demanding applications where other waterjet abrasives fall short. It can cut net-shape or near-net-shape parts and secondry prosseing is required in many applications
Garnet Abrasive Mesh Sizes
RGT garnet abrasive is mined from Almandine mineral deposit sources on the coastal stretch of south India. RGT garnet is available in a range of tightly screened abrasive blasting products to suit every application and site requirement. It is available in the following mesh sizes.
12 ~ 40 Mesh
One of the most preferred products for multi-media water filtration systems. It can also be used for specialized application where excessive surface profiling is required or very high built coating systems are to be removed
Surface Profile: 100 – 150 microns
20 ~ 40 Mesh
It is an abrasive that can be utilized for heavy duty coating removal. Its recyclability and nominal production rate makes it one of the most preferred repair grade abrasives
Surface Profile: 75 – 100 microns
20 ~ 60 Mesh
It is the most cost effective and excellent abrasive of its kind. Its repeatability makes it suited for fast efficient removal of existing coating when compared to the other traditionally used abrasive medium
Surface Profile: 50 – 90 microns
30 ~ 60 Mesh
It is perfect for all type of blasting applications including, removing existing coating, rust and other contamination. An ideal choice for superior surface preparation for pipelines, fabricated steel and structures, it is preferred most as a Slurry– Blast Grade and High Pressure Hydro-Blasting Abrasive
Surface Profile: 50 – 75 microns
80 Mesh
Possessing highest efficiency on new steel/ mill scale due to highest grain count per weight/volume makes it an ideal choice for surface preparation of Aluminum and non-ferrous surface
120 Mesh
Utilized for surface preparation of stainless steel and Aluminum where minimum surface roughness is desired, this abrasive medium can be used on a variety of pliable and synthetic products too.
