PSC Ball is made by atomizing liquid steel slag using Slag Atomizing Technology (SAT). Fast heat exchange of the falling liquid steel slag to a high speed airflow converts the liquid steel slag stream into spherical slag balls of various sizes. Thanks to its structure, free CaO and Fe2O3 are scattered to form a solid PS ball.
PSC Ball Applications
Ship Building
Unlike mineral abrasives like garnet, PSC ball is dust free and is widely used in surface preparation, rust removal and ship building applications.
Weight Material
With a bulk specific gravity of 2.42 Kg/l, iron furnace slag ball is widely used as a counter balance.
Filtration
PSC ball is non-water absorbent and has a long useful life making it suitable as a filtration medium.
Steel Preparation
As an abrasive, it can be used to clean materials in preparation for painting.
Storage Tank Cleaning
In production and maintenance of storage tanks, PSC ball is used for cleaning welded areas in storage tanks before repainting.
